Kill the Winter Chill with Color!

With winter’s chilly gloom upon us
there nothing is more important than adding some color to your wardrobe. Color equates to a feeling of light hearted
happiness and is an easy-to-add much needed break from the greys, blacks, and
other muted tones we tend to wear in the winter. Kiss the winter doldrums adios with the happy
color choices of Micro
Opaque Lycra tights or the more subtle shadings in
Mélange.
I know we all tend to throw a bright
colored warm scarf around our necks but why not continue this love of color
right down to our boots? Even the most
severely tailored black business suit takes on a much needed boost when paired
with colorful opaque tights.
Opaque tights have never been more in
fashion and more fun than they are right now.
The heavier thread density of opaque tights add warmth and, when coupled
with the optional woven-in patterns nicely balance our layers of clothing for a
look that says “Winter chill – pfft! I look great”!
One of my favorite opaque tights this
season is from Gabriella. Mélange is a 50 thread
density opaque tight that has a vertical pattern of stripes in contrasting
colors that create the illusion of longer more svelte legs … and heavens knows,
I can do with some of that extra height!
Graphite is a stunning combination of slate grey and darker grey that
pairs wonderfully with almost everything and looks smashing with winter whites
and hot pinks. Voila is a light
aubergine and a deeper purple and looks terrific with blacks, browns and navy
and olive.
And my light hearted fantasy opaque
tights – Marilyn’s Micro Opaque
Lycra tights. These 60 thread
density tights are pure funky fun in a great selection of colors: red; light cherry,
purple and pearl. The pearl is
stupendous with every color in your wardrobe day or night, and red – it’s
Christmas so dress accordingly!
That said, now there is absolutely no
excuse for not bringing some summertime fun into your winter wardrobe.
